Treks

We offer all of the standard Annapurna region treks such as the Annapurna Base Camp, Poon Hill (aka Pun Hill), the hot springs of Tatopani, and the full Around Annapurna trek. We can design a trek to meet your schedule, fitness level, interests and budget. Our treks are Tea House treks.

One of the most popular treks is to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). Here you are completely surrounded by the Annapurna Massive and the magnificent Macchapucchare (Fish Tail). Above ABC you can hike up the glacial moraine to view Annapurna South Glacier and a spectacular view of Macchapucchare. If you are up to it, experience the challenge of an overnight stay at an elevation of 4150m (13,600′) and view the crystal clear view of the mountains at sunrise.  Trek through the Rhododendron jungle on the way down with amazing and spectacular views of the mountains continuously along the way. The return trip brings you to Ghorapani with its famous hike up Poon Hill to view the sunrise over Annapurna Range.

We also off treks to the Upper Mustang

This trek enters the restricted district of the Upper Mustang and a special permit must be purchased in advance. This is not a trek for the budget traveler as the cost of the permit alone (subject to change) is $500US for a minimum of 10 days. The trek starts and ends in Kagbeni and then takes the full 10 days to complete, spending two days in the capital of Lo Montang..  Typically travelers fly into and out of Jonsom to do this trek although the option is there to trek the whole way to and from Jonsom or to fly in or out as time or budget dictates. This trek is truely breathtaking in its beauty.  The Upper Mustang people are in some ways the caretakers of the true Tibetan culture and life in the villiages of the Upper Mustang are carried out in the classical Tibetan Buddhist style. This is the trip of a lifetime.
